Aspire to Engineer 2018 winners, Edgbaston High School for Girls

We are delighted to announce the winners of this years’ Aspire to Engineer competition

The theme this year was Genetic Engineering, and first prize went Edgbaston High School for Girls who won a class experience with the Natural History Museum. Their Year 6 team particularly impressed our judging panel though the innovative way they demonstrated how genetic engineering can be made accessible to a younger group through their playground fair.

Runner-up prizes go to Bedford Free School, The Judd School and The Compton School, all who win a virtual interview with world leading scientists Gebisa Ejeta, Dr Kathy Niakan and Professor Madeleine Van Oppen.

You can listen to our experts debate Genetic Engineering at last summer’s BBC World Service panel discussion.
