Israel Adoba
Humanitarian Affairs Officer
Israel Adoba studied Terrorism, International Crime and Global Security (MA) at Coventry University and graduated in 2014. Since graduating they have been working as a Humanitarian Affairs Officer. Of their time at Coventry University they said; “ I had an amazing time at Coventry University. First, I got the opportunity to visit Italy as part of my counterterrorism course and the United States as part of the Global Leaders Program. Second, I got to work on two projects as the lead - West Midlands Police Project and Model European Union with the International Experience and Mobility Service (IEMS) now the Centre for Global Engagement. Aside from the above, the lectures were easy to relate with as opposed to how I was taught and the lecturers made it easy to learn. It was indeed a great experience. I have applied all the theoretical knowledge to practice as I work within my field where I am responsible for the resettlement of victims of the Boko Haram insurgency in Borno State. I have also implemented a number of projects for different NGOs which are still in play today and I have had the opportunity to speak with Coventry University students on their international praxis course and through the Centre for Global Engagement".
