Remember Together: Stories behind the Poppy

Indigenous Veterans Day – Wednesday 8 November

John Shiwak, Francis Pagahmagabow, Cameron Brant, Edith Monture – four names among 4000 Indigenous men and women who served at the Western Front during the First World War.

Following on from the huge success of John McCrae 150 last year, join schools across the United Kingdom and Canada to discover and explore their experience and service in a very special edition of Stories behind the Poppy, taking place this year on Indigenous Veterans Day, 8 November 2023. These meaningful, one hour, digital events will include active remembrance activities, an opportunity to discover remarkable and little known stories and interact with schools in another country and timezone – from Manchester to Moose Jaw.

These workshops will be hosted by Big Ideas and special guest host Faith Decontie. Find out more about Faith here
