Roisin has broad experience in digital communications and content production. She began her career at the British Council working first in Education & Society, then Arts and finally in Corporate Communications. During her time at the British Council, Roisin specialised in digital content, editorial, campaign strategy and production, most notably as Digital Communications Manager for the UK Government Great Campaign: Education UK, Digital Content Manager for the 2016 Arts campaign Shakespeare Lives, and then as Digital Editor for the Corporate Communications newspaper ‘Voices’ .
She then joined the environmental charity Friends of the Earth, where she worked as Creative Digital Producer on campaigns such as ‘Plastic Free Friday’, Ban Fracking, and Save the Bees. Roisin was asked to sit on the Innovation Working Group, exploring how AI technologies could be used to positively impact community activism and engagement.
At this time Roisin also began her postgraduate degree in Digital Journalism at Goldsmiths University. She is due to graduate with merit this September.
Since joining Big Ideas in 2018 Roisin has worked on Remember Together projects, and more recently on the Great Exhibition, developing resources and 1851der app for the Great Exhibition Road Festival 2019. She is passionate about using digital technology to create exciting new experiences, and how digital tools can widen participation for marginalised and underrepresented communities.
Roisin received a BA hons in English Literature and Philosophy from the University of Leeds in 2009.
