D-Day, which took place on June 6, 1944, was one of the most important days during World War II. It was a turning point in history, a complex military campaign in which British and Canadian forces stood side by side with the US military and the Allies.

To commemorate 80 years since D-Day, Stories behind the Poppy schools in the UK and Canada are invited to send in questions for Canadian D-Day veteran William Wilson.

Honorary Captain (N) (Ret’d) William H. Wilson, more commonly known as Captain Bill, took part in the D-Day landings and will answer questions about D-Day, his memories of World War II, and being 99 years old.

Please submit your questions using the form below and we will film him answering as many as we can and the film will be shared in the Stories behind the Poppy event for schools in the UK and Canada in November. Please note: we will send out registration details to everyone who sends in their questions in the autumn/fall.
