Big Ideas Company is delighted to be working for the British Council’s Shakespeare Lives in 2016 team.
We are developing and delivering a series of essay exploring Shakespeare’s global relevance. How does a London playwright who died 400 years ago connect with the world we live in today?
In this series of unique essays exceptional international public figures share what Shakespeare means to them, today.
Contributors include legend of South African theatre, John Kani, Nigeria’s Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka and the Arab world’s most popular author Ahlem Mosteghanemi.
This isn’t the academics and it’s not the story on stage. Prepare to be surprised: this is brave, new Shakespeare.
The project is also in partnership with the BBC World Service and the Open University who are making five films and wrap around learning resources.
The essays (2000 words long) will be published on www.shakespearelives.org as well partners’ websites.
