What is Trailblazers?
Trailblazers is a groundbreaking project celebrating Black and Asian players. It is a celebration of the rich diversity of players in British football – past, present and future. This programme uncovers important hidden history and you have the opportunity to be part of discovering and showcasing the achievements of the first Black and Asian footballers at your Club.
By taking part you need to identify Black or Asian Trailblazers who have made a difference to your club and local community, and amplify their contributions to football and wider society.
This is a creative project rooted in identity, social justice, expression, anti-racism and citizenship with an emphasis on literacy, creative and communication skills.
This innovative programme has the potential to influence the thoughts, aspirations and practice of all staff members and academy players by recognising and celebrating diverse heritage.
Trailblazers develops an understanding of racism and anti-racist practice and paves the way for inclusion. The programme is an opportunity to reach into and increase links with the wider local community.
This is an opportunity to take part if you haven’t already, or to take your project further this season.
