Stories behind the Poppy: The Battle of the Atlantic

Thursday 6th November

The Battle of the Atlantic  was the longest continuous battle of World War II, a vital connection which brought supplies from North America to keep the people of the United Kingdom from starvation; it stands as an ultimate example of allyship between Canada and the UK.

This year Stories Behind the Poppy commemorates the Battle of the Atlantic in which Allied Forces fought German U-boats and aircraft to keep critical supply routes open across the Atlantic Ocean.

It was an essential struggle for survival involving merchant ships, naval escorts, and submarines against Nazi forces and the elements in some of the most stormy open ocean waters in the world.

Book your FREE place on Thursday 6th November and join classes across the UK and Canada to mark the 80th anniversary of Battle of the Atlantic.
