Meet engineer Nicholas Nyamayedenga, and discover the story of Sludge. What is left when we clean water? Tonnes and tonnes of thick, gunky residue that is piling up around the world with nowhere good to go. Scientists are racing to find ways to turn this waste into something useful and the answer could transform how we think about one of the most essential processes on the planet.
Expert Guest – Nicholas Nyamayedenga
“Growing up, I never dreamed I’d use a host of robot sensors to spy on a giant, freezing puddle of muck, but it’s the coolest job on the planet!”
Nicholas Nyamayedenga began his engineering career in Zimbabwe before moving to the UK to further his studies in Chemical Engineering at the University of Bradford and with the James Mae Group as an R&D Engineer.
Nicholas is improving the vital process of water treatment and has been recognised with an Industrial Fellowship from the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851.
